Miquel Rius

A company dedicated to the stationery sector and its derivatives, originally used hand-held terminals for order preparation, which indicated the location and quantity.
The company opted to integrate 8 picking trolleys with displays. These trolleys are equipped with a Tablet/PC that includes a remote SAP session, which allows the location of the item to be picked and the quantity to be consulted, while an application installed on a PC manages the trolley displays. This procedure allows grouped picking (Batch Picking).
The cart can carry a total of 12 boxes of 300 front x 400 high x 600 deep. These improvements translate into:

Laboratorios Sesderma

This company originally used picking trolleys for order picking using handheld terminals, on which the location and quantity were indicated.
Using handheld terminals increased the production compared to using paper picking, but it was not enough.
Finally, the laboratory opted to integrate 4 Electrotec picking trolleys. These trolleys are equipped with a Tablet/PC including EsoftLite, which manages the trolley displays, enabling batch picking. The trolley can carry a total of 12 boxes of 300 front x 400 high x 600 deep.
These improvements translate into:
  • Increase in production > 200 %
  • Untrained sorting staff
  • Reduction of errors < 0,1 %

Sarigabo

Sarigabo, located in Sevilla, is dedicated to the distribution of sweets and their derivatives as its main activity. Through the company Esfera Ingeniería del Software, two trolleys with 24 displays were integrated, 12 displays on the front side and 12 displays on the back side.
These trolleys are equipped with a Tablet with Windows 10 as the operating system and include an application developed by Esfera Ingeniería del Software integrated in its WMS (Warehouse Management System) that manages the preparation of orders and communicates via WIFI with the main program located on a server. This system is allowing grouped picking (Batch Picking).
The trolley displays are connected to a WIFI module installed in the trolley and are managed by an application that is hosted on a PC/Server. The trolley can carry a total of 24 boxes of 300 front x 400 height x 300 deep.
The order preparation process allows the grouping of orders based on previously defined rules and the previously defined set parameters. This leads to achieving agile, fast and efficient preparation of the goods within the WMS.

Iber Dreams

Iber Dreams is located in Zaragoza and is dedicated to the distribution of cotton textile garments and T-shirts with technical fabrics for sports as its main activity. Two trolleys with three shelves and RGB LEDs were integrated.
These trolleys are equipped with a WIFI module and a LED interface module that manages the RGB LEDs. An application developed by an external software company and located on a company server, is the one that allowed the integration and management of the trolleys with its WMS (Warehouse Management System). This application manages the preparation of orders using a PDA as an interface with the operator and allows grouped picking (Batch Picking).
The RGB LEDs are configurable to adapt to the size of the boxes. We can place boxes of different widths from 100 to 600 mm. In this case, Iber Dreams opted for a size of 300 mm which allows you to place 4 items per shelf and therefore, as there are three shelves, we can place up to 12 items.
With this order picking process with RGB LEDs, Iber Dreams has drastically reduced picking errors as it is a light-guided process. Also, it has increased productivity by up to 20% using operators with no previous training in the logistics sector.
